i think this looks incredible. it's rare to see sci fi look this real and intense. i can't believe nobody has given these guys a green light to make this film. why are so many people concerned about Master Chief casting? i would assume we'll never see his face so who gives a flying F@#*! |

Yes, shaky cams suck balls and ruin the experience. that style needs to end. and even with a small budget, this doesn't look very good. it almost looks like a homemade movie at a paintball park.
and halo IS overrated. it has an average storyline, fairly good graphics for each of their times and I didn't get my "ass whipped" and i love video games. it has only done so well mainly because of its multiplayer, which is the funnest part of the whole game. and in regards to fps vidoegames, half-life and its sequel are the best things to ever happen to it. |

MASTER CHIEF CASTING
I think to do Halo justice they need a director with a little more experience and style. But most of all they need figure out who to cast as Master Chief. So far I have heard Bruce Willis several times. Then out of no where it hit me like a ton bricks. Thomas Jane. I mean come one aren't we all a bunch of Thomas Jane fanboys here? I mean if I was EP I would insist on him or nothing. Am I wrong? |

Is Halo ever going to be a live action movie or what? IMDb still says "Status: Unknown". |

I don't like the style of these shorts shown. I understand that the budget is super low, but it looks like they are going for a 70s-80s action movie look, lots of the shots look like they are taken right from Predator or Starship Troopers which doesn't capture the atmosphere of Halo AT ALL. Halo is flashy and stylish, not this gritty run and cover type of action. This type of movie is better suited for something like Gears of War.
I don't know how Neil whats-his-face would change it if he had the budget required, but I think that they should get a different director personally. Shots through thermal vision that includes random text and scanning of heat signals got old 30 years ago.
And if the entire movie is on this shaky cam, 90% of the general public is going to have a shitfest. (See the last two Bourne films) |

I have to see, Master Chief before i'm on board, but with grat special effects it could be good.
Mr.Badguy, nothing about Halo is over rated. You either are in loser denial because you get your ass whipped at it or you just plain hate video games. It is a fact that its one of the best things to happen to video games ever hands down. |

Pretty sweet looking stuff. I was skeptical at first, but if the Halo movie ever gets off the ground again, I think Blomkamp will do a great job with that. He's got Peter Jackson supporting him, that alone is enough to convince me. But I couldn't really tell if the Marines in that were live action or not...? |
