2nd Iron Man cameo
Most of us have seen or at least heard of the cameo Sam Jackson makes in IRON MAN as Nick Fury recruiting Tony Stark for the "Avenger Initiative" but did any of you also happen to notice that when Stark is taking his suit off after his dogfight with the F-22's, off to the left on his workbench, can be seen what appears to be some sort of prototype of Captain America's shield? The folks at io9 were astute enough to catch this little nugget and you can click through for a bigger version of the below pic to ascertain whether or not this is really the shield. What do you guys think?

Extra Tidbit: Within the comics, the title "Captain America" applies to whomever is chosen by the U.S. government to wear the costume and bear the shield, though that post has been occupied by Steve Rogers for pretty much all of the comic's history.

However, I gotta say, I don't see a star on a shield. Nor does it flow with the story. We're stretching, and I have a feeling Marvel's gonna use it to their own advantage.

It's still NO! despite what geektyrant.com has to say about it. If that confirmation came from one of the Arads or Favreau, I'd believe it. Since it's an "insider", the answer is ...

Wait a minute, does that make him Darth Vader? Now I've gone cross eyed. Honestly, I highly doubt that's the Captain America shield. I understand that they are connecting everything in the universe (which is cool), but it seems to be a bit of a stretch (for all the below reasons).
