30 Days of Night 2 gets a bloodthirsty trailer

Alright so, yeah, I know 30 DAYS OF NIGHT: DARK DAYS ended up going straight to DVD, but since we've reported on it in the past, I feel the need to at least see it through to a trailer, as there are a lot of fans of the original out there.

The blonde chick from the first movie survived and is now giving lectures on how vampires exist and are shitty. She demonstrates this by turning on UV lights during her presentation which fry all the vampires in the audience. Though to be fair, you could have identified them by the fact that they were all wearing sunglasses indoors. And if a few human douchebags get killed in the process using that method? So be it.

I don’t know, losing the arctic and isolated setting of the first movie makes this not nearly as interesting. It’s just people hunting vampires in a city but without all the cool action of BLADE and UNDERWORLD. Just people trying to shoot vampires with guns that probably won’t work. It doesn’t help that the cast is rounded out by Billy Walsh and Michael from LOST.

Definitely don't get that quality of production value very often for a STV movie. Though that's not the be all, end all, and even when Melissa isn't involved, can't help but be excited to see how it turns out. Just keep it gory, dark and the characters believeable, and I'm there...

It's a shame really. Loved the first. Thought it was genuinely frightening. Would have been good is this was given a decent theatrical release.

Eh, I'll rent it, but I don't have much hope. The first one was a disappointment, which is a shame cause the graphic novels are great. I sense that the action here will be shitty low budget, but I like the premise. For a sequel to the original, the source material was very good. Maybe the movie will be good too. We'll see. P.S. The voice over in the trailer is terrible.

The screenplay is written by Steve Niles (author of the original graphic novel), and the second book in the series was a lot more involved than the first. Especially since there are three factions in this story, not just the vampires and the hunters.

I smell garbage. The gimmick of the original was all it had going for it, without that, I can't picture this as more then a rental. Also, they lack the charismatic leader the last one had. I felt his acting was half the enjoyment of the original. Sigh. Garbage.
