4th Mission for Cruise May. 5, 2008
Source: Access Hollywood by: Mike Sampson

I'm on the record as saying MISSION:IMPOSSIBLE III was a good, entertaining flick but I'm also on the record as being done with the M:I franchise. What else do we need? I'd rather see Cruise do something a little different. Alas it seems that Cruise is in talks with Paramount and developing a fourth MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE movie. Of course the news is being reported by Access Hollywood and Billy Bush so take it with a grain of salt but they claim they have "sources" that "confirmed" Cruise is "in talks." Of course talks is always a very nebulous phrase and could mean that some exec said, "Hey Tom, how about a fourth MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE movie?" And Tom Cruise replies, "Yeah, maybe..." Despite all the lunacy surrounding Tom Cruise off-screen, I still love the guy on-screen. Maybe I'm in the minority and maybe it's because he's one of the nicest actors I've ever met, but the guy could just as well launch a new franchise. Now if they talked about bringing David Fincher back to direct his script he originally intended for the third installment, maybe I'd be behind M:I:IV.

Extra Tidbit: Remember when Tom Cruise was attached to play IRON MAN for the longest time? Think he's kicking himself now?

Ha! Awesome pic!! I dig Cruise. Yea he's a weirdo off screen but on, he rarely misses. M:I 3 was the shit, too. I'm up for another. Why not?

CALLED IT...
You know after the lackluster release of Lion For Lambs, which I really enjoyed, I told my friends that the only way Cruise could revive his career would be to make another Mission Impossible and here we are.

Personally I love the first 3 and would be very much up for a fourth, but the key to success with this film relies in everyone else.

Cruise has 180ed his career and nobody seems to care anymore. He will have to work his ass off more than ever if he wants to regain the publics eye. I forsee a summer release, other big stars, a damn fine story that rivals the first, and perhaps Brian De Palma returning. Hey, that's just me though.

Tom Cruise fucked it up, and he needs to pull himself together to regain credibility. I never let a star's private attitude affect my judgement of his movies, but at certain point Cruise was all over the place. I mean, literally, all over the planet with his stupid Scientology propaganda and his romantic life. We all have boyfriends/girlfriends, dude, and we all have believes. Just keep it to yourself and go make good movies cos that's your job.

PRETTY SOLID NEWS
I like Mission Impossible. I enjoyed the T.V. series and I like the movies. As for whether the news is bogus or not, I read about it today on MSNBC before seeing it here. I think they would be considered somewhat credible.

Tom Cruise might have have sucked the sexy out of Katie Holmes and is coo-coo for Cocoa Puffs, but M:I 3 was much better than the first two. I endorse a fourth.

I can see many more Mission Impossible movies because each one of them are totally different, in style in genre, so it doesn't really get old (as long as they ditch the mask thing)
Fincher is a great choice to make a change, or a more dramatic director, like Tykwer, Mierelles, or Cuaron, and just give them total freedom.

A BIT OF A SURPRISE
Since I thought Paramount was done with Tom Cruise, thanks to his off-screen antics and the less-than-ideal box office for MI:3. Still, I've enjoyed the majority of his films, so I'm all for a MI:4.
