Paul Feig Paul Feig, who wrote and directed the upcoming comedy UNACCOMPANIED MINORS for Warner Bros., has once again been contracted by the studio to rewrite and direct the comedy SMOOTH OPERATOR. The story centers on a sophisticated, charming CIA agent who's tasked with turning a computer nerd into a similar suave spy so he can seduce a female operative. Hilarity, as you may have guessed ,ensues. Feig himself describes it as "A high-tech version of 'Cyrano,' or like a 'Hitch'-meets-'Rush Hour.'" Despite being known for eccentric character-based comedy, Feig plans on making the film broader in scope with more physical comedy since he's particularly fond of movies by John Hughes, Blake Edwards, and the 'Three Stooges.' They're aiming for a spring production start with casting done as soon as Feig is done with the rewrite. In the meantime, UNACCOMPANIED MINORS opens December 8th.

Extra Tidbit: Feig has directed several episodes of the critically acclaimed series' "Arrested Development" and "The Office".

say it ain't so, feig!
please god, no! after all of the good he's brought into the world ('freaks & geeks', multiple episodes of 'AD' & 'the office'& his two hilarious memoirs), feig seems to be crossing over to the dark side of hollywood-hackery. 'unaccompanied minors' looks awful enough, but this one sounds like it'd negate any comedic credibility feig has made for himself.
