Some of her recent filmography (THE LOVE GURU, FANTASTIC FOUR) to the contrary, superior posterior specimen Jessica Alba has occasionally stated her desire to be taken more seriously as an actress.
Teaming with an Oscar-nominated actor like Casey Affleck and an acclaimed director such as Michael Winterbottom (A MIGHTY HEART) could be a step on the right path. Alba will co-star with Casey in Winterbottom's THE KILLER INSIDE ME, based on Jim Thompson's 1952 noir novel.
The story involves an amiable small-town Texas lawman wrestling with a dark secret, demonstrated through increasingly sociopathic actions. And there's also a whore, who's being played by Alba, and I think plenty of us will show up for Albawhore.
The novel was previously adapted in 1976 with Stacy Keach playing the violent deputy sheriff.
