The whole RIDDICK thing had always been envisioned as at least a trilogy, so it's no surprise to hear that David Twohy has been talking about the next installment: "Okay, okay, now on to the really important stuff like "What the fuck is happening with RIDDICK? Yes, I got your emails demanding another movie; yes I keep bumping into guys at the airport and at conventions and I take your pleas to heart. All I can say now is "We're talking about it." The DVD numbers were really good - we know that, and some potential financiers know that. But if another movie surfaces, then it probably won't be a Universal movie and probably will be an independent movie... But that's okay... Maybe it's time to go back to our roots - as we go on to the UnderVerse."Well I for one, would definitely want Riddick to go back to his roots, since PITCH BLACK was great, but I didn't really care for THE CHRONICLES at all. In fact, I'm pretty sure that the only part of that movie I enjoyed, was when Diesel went all bad-ass and said "No, but I'll take a piece of him." What do you guys think? Do we want another RIDDICK film? Or do we want Diesel to stop making films that aren't that damn Hannibal film he's been cock-teasing us with? Or just plain stop making films altogether? A bit harsh, but if that's how you feel, then that's how you feel.
Extra Tidbit:
Judi Dench's dress in THE CHRONICLES OF RIDDICK was made from crushed Swarovski crystal.

HELL YEAH
Riddick is one of the coolest sci-fi series since Aliens and Matrix. Fact is, there aren't many "dark" sci-fi film series: most of the serials (Star Wars, Star Trek) are happy-friendly fair. There are periodic dark one-offs, but actual series are rare. Riddick is a gem (onyx, obviously)...don't let it die.
That, and Diesel still has my vote for best successor to the Stallone legacy. However, to step into those shoes, he needs to keep MAKING MOVIES. At this point in his career, he should be kicking out at least one, two per year. I don't care if they're good or not -- hell, Christian Slater seems to be keeping busier as a working actor. Diesel's gotten too selective, too soon. Keep churning out trash, and improving with every one. |

I liked the sound of Chronicles of Riddick.. so, he should definitely continue in them. Just lay low on the fantasy sci-fi stuff. Less elementals and more Diese being a Bad Ass.. and this comes from someone who doesnt like him. |

I would kill to see another Riddick movie. I think I was one of the few that thought Chronicles was better than Pitch Black. They're both excellent movies though. |

WOULD BE COOL, BUT WE WON'T EVER SEE IT.
Loved Pitch Black and it made him a star like I said in my review here on good ol' Joblo when it came out. The second wasn't all that great, and it goes to show that even with a budget 4 times the size of the original, if you don't have a great story, well you all know. The likeliness of us ever seeing this is very doubtful if not impossible. The fact that Diesel is going back for a frieking fourth Fast & Furious, *snore* goes to show his star isn't shining like it was. All I can say is here's hoping that Babylon A.D. is going to be good. |

This is actually a great news. I loved Pitch Black, but thought Chronicles of Riddick went crazy with the budget. Maybe now as an independent picture it can go back to a more Pitch Black vibe which was epic enough without the scope of COR. |

Whatever people think of Diesel, he really made a mark with this character. Like most on here I really dug "Pitch Black," and the second one wasn't awful, when it focused on that same world of bounty hunters, mercs, and a grown-up Jack (okay, a little sappy, but still). The Underverse angle wasn't terrible, but it felt too much like it wanted to be some grand Star Wars-esque thing like the Empire or something out of "The Mummy Returns," which ain't a compliment. However, having done their big-budget chapter, there's all sorts of coolness that could be mined from a third one. This thing has to potential to be the Mad Max of our time, if not quite so groundbreaking. |

Definitely like the sound of another Riddick movie! I really liked 'the chronicles', in fact my only real criticism would have been that the concept for the universe in which it was set seemed underutilized/under explored considering its obvious scope in my opinion equaling or exceeding that of the star wars/trek universes. Another movie in the same vein would be excellent! Hopefully if this goes ahead thats the direction they go rather than back to something more like pitch black, then again i also really enjoyed that, so just another all out action wouldn't be the worst thing ever! |

I thought it was already a trilogy? At least that's why I bought the 3 movie set. Granted the animated one was short, but I thought it was a part of the 3. Course I wouldn't mind seeing another one, I've enjoyed them all so far. |

THUMBS UP
The storyline could use alot more exploring and if they find the right formula to fuse 'Chronicles' (space opera) with 'Pitch Black' (horror), it will be a very good film. |

Goddamn, I hope they follow through on this! I loved both "Pitch Black" and "Riddick" (yes, I thought "Chronicles" was fucking awesome, and much better than any of the "Star Wars" prequels), and have been hoping for a sequel for some time now. If I remember correctly, though, wasn't "Riddick" supposed to be the first film in the trilogy ("Pitch Black" being like "The Hobbit" was to "LOTR"), with the second being the Underverse and the third a return to Furya? If so, I wonder if that's still the plan? |
