NOT A REMAKE. A SEQUEL!
I just read on bloody-disgusting.com that is not a remake at all, but a sequel to the third film (takes place 20 years after the Robocop program is shut down). |

SERIOUSLY?
you psychos support this madness? look, i love Aranofsky as much as any other schmoe, but this is a horrible idea. remaking RoboCop in the first damn place is a horrible idea. yes, the series went to shit after one, but there was no damn reason to make it a series in the first place. RoboCop still stands as a brilliant send-up of 80's action cinema, and is one of the more quotable movies of that era. do not fuck with Veerhoven's gem. Aronofsky should know better. |

I might be the only one who might be cautiously optimistic about a Robocop re-do. Let's face it. The Robocop series has been trashed and abused like a Detroit City coke-addicted hooker (no thanks to Robocop 1 and 2, and all the direct-to-TV shit). If Chris Nolan can re-ignite Batman, and Martin Campbell can redeem James Bond, why can't Robocop have the same treatment??? |

Someone as creative and unique as Darren Aronofsky shouldn't be remaking Robocop. Robocop is a ridiculous film, and a remake would have absolutely no potential, regardless of who makes it. |

No more remakes unless the original is at least 30 years old, OK? I'm really sick of lazy, talentless hacks remaking films. Find a new idea. Make original cinema. Stop f#cking with old TV shows, remakes, "reimaginings," and hack jobs. It all just smacks of lazy, cash-grabbing b#llshit. |

my thinking on this is like this:
Who would have thought Nolan could do Batman as amazing as he did? How many people thought Raime (Sp??) could do Spiderman as well as he did?! I think these directors that have this indy/ cult following, go big with these mainstream flicks and they do them justice! |

I love Aronsofsky's work but Robocop isn't the kind of thing he should be doing.
His fresh idea's usually include changing the main character and original story drastically and adding his own version to it and Robocop would be just fine the way it is. |

Aronofsky would be great. But if he passes the next dream choice should be Cronenberg. He's at the top of he's game and he's always had something for machines blending in with flesh in disturbing violent/erotic ways |
