Two brothers named Frank and Donnie have led unfortunately sad lives due to their father's murderous past. Now they live away from the prying eyes of the world, until one day Frank has to save his brother from an attack. From here, a girl is killed after Frank crosses paths with the town Sheriff, and the two brothers kidnap the murder's only witness. Are Frank and Donnie innocent, or is murder bred in their veins?

This movie was pretty awesome, I must say. By far one of the best lower-budget type films i've seen in quite some time, Bloodshed held my interest through its entire runtime, which is more than I can say for many other indie flicks which may take me two or three sittings or multiple viewings to understand or even get through at all.

I could launch into the specifics of the story, but its difficult to do that without essentially ruining the whole thing for you, the potential viewer. Instead, i'll tell you what this flick does right, and that's quite a bit.

First of all, every penny of this budget is thrown up on the screen, I respect and admire that, I don't think you see that too often. Second, the acting is spot on, I thought that both Frank (Edward Ice Mrozek) and Donnie (Christopher Childs) were great, and the supporting cast does a good job too. The gore/kills are implied ones which are left up to your imagination for the most part, and this absolutely makes this flick work. The character development for the main characters is spot on and rich, which really helps you get into the flick, although at times some of the victims kind of have what is coming to them. As for the story itself, its dark and unsettling, and will probably leave you creeped out.

Do yourself a favor, and check Bloodshed out, it's worth it.
If you want to support indie filmmaking and see awesome young directors like Jim Mcmahon up on your big screen someday, you've got to do it by checking out their stuff and spreading the word! I can heartily recommend this flick. It's dark, well written and relatively quickly paced. This is one shed worth visiting.
