The Hollywood Reporter announced this morning that Gold Circle Films has greenlit director Gonzalo Lopez-Gallego's first English-spoken film entitled SOLO. And no, it's not a remake of the Mario Van Peebles action flick of the same name.

Of course, I couldn't really tell you what the flick is about, other than it's a "Misery"-style thriller for the teen set, with elements of "Lord of the Flies" and "Blue Lagoon." Say what???

Somewhat of a bizarre summary of films for a flick to be based on (the MISERY element really throws a wrench into things), which hopefully means the film itself will be somewhat bizarre and (hopefully) entertaining.

Written by David Coggeshall, SOLO is set to start production within the next couple of months. Come to think of it, this flick also sounds like it could be an edgier, teenier LOST episode, as that seems to go along with the other two films. I guess that could be kind of cool.
