Have we not seen the last of Ash?! That may be so according to EVIL DEAD originator Sam Raimi. Not too long ago, my man Eric reported here on the possibility of another EVIL DEAD or a remake. Now we have even more proof that the Necronomicon may indeed be opening up again. Here’s what Mr. Raimi himself had to say recently at Comic-Con which AITH attended:
“I’d love to make another EVIL DEAD picture. And actually that’s in the wheelhouse. I’d like to work on it with my brother Ivan when he comes up next week.”
Really? Just like that? It sounds so simple. Which makes it tough for me to swallow (that’s what she said). There’s no exact word yet on whether Raimi was speaking of a straight-up sequel or a remake. Either way, the man clearly wants to work with The Chin, Bruce Campbell, again. Specifically, he’s looking ”to test Bruce’s pain tolerance.” Well, after watching all the shit he had to endure in the first three EVIL DEADs as well as BUBBA HO-TEP, I’d say The Chin’s tolerance is pretty friggin’ high.
I’m still not getting my hopes up for this one just yet. Let’s see what else Sam and his bro have to say in the future.
