INTRO: Stop me if you've heard this before: you play a tough combat engineer named Seth Walker. You're of course in outer space, and your job is to save the earth from countless hordes of enemy aliens. You're the only hope to save the world and blah blah so on. Join me as we play every space alien game ever made!

GAMEPLAY:

The crazy thing here is that this game actually exists. Is it the worst game you could play? Absolutely not. But with that being said, this game was greenlit by executives and deemed to be worth releasing, and that's what I find strange. There is absolutely nothing going on in this game that sets it apart from any other game like it that I've encountered in the last decade or so. Everything is familiar, and nothing is good enough to stand on its own. The enemies are stupid as can be, as they just stand in the open and fire aimlessly. They're not very scary, original, or challenging, like the rest of the game.

The game is short, thankfully only running about 10 hours long. You stay on your ship, the Alexander for the game's entire play time. I can't detail a lot about the gameplay because there just isn't much to say. You pick up your gun, and blast many, many aliens. When they die, they drop parts which allow you to slowly upgrade your weapons. It takes forever to update your stuff, and everything is just so dull. You can also make the choice to upgrade your body with cybernetic parts. This sounds cool and the game promotes it like it makes a big deal. It hardly registers, even if you go 'full robot' (thank you, Tropic Thunder), it still doesn't make much difference at all. I am actually not even sure if the game recognizes that you've done it. Here's another kicker- you can't even move and shoot at the same time. Brutal stuff.

Gameplay: 4/10

GRAPHICS:

Graphics are absolutely average in terms of character models, and terrible in terms of environments. I say that only because you essentially play the game in one giant hallway with almost no change to the environment. The textures are dull and gray and never go away. Occasionally the lighting will change and tint the room a different color, but that's the best you'll get. It all gets really monotonous after awhile and makes the game seem longer in a bad way.

Graphics: 5/10

AUDIO:

Sound is decent with an okay score. Sound effects are good too, and the voice acting works well enough too. Probably the shining star of this game's sky.

Audio: 7/10

FINAL VERDICT:

Ultimately this game won't even register as a blip on the radar. If you can, fire it up and beat it relatively quickly. The action is okay, but the AI is stupid and the environments are sorely lacking. The whole upgrade system and cybernetic thing is really disappointing too. Even the game's title is bland. Check it out if you really are interested, but I don't recommend it.

Final Score: 6/10
