ANGEL OF DEATH - July 28th

I've been a fan of Zoe Bell ever since she rocked Quentin Tarantino's DEATH PROOF. She seems cool as hell, and she's a stuntperson, making her all that much hotter. Now comes her headlining starring-role debut in the action-thriller ANGEL OF DEATH. If some hot chick was gonna be the one to take a hit out on me, then I'd be stoked. I mean, if you're gonna be blown away, wouldn't you want Zoe Bell to be the one to do it? Hell yeah.

The Goods:

  • Anamorphic widescreen
  • English Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround
  • Commentary with Creator Ed Brubaker and Star Zoë Bell
  • "Making of Angel of Death" featurette
  • "Casting an Angel: Zoë Bell as Eve" featurette
  • "Writing, Ed Brubaker Style" featurette
  • "Behind the Stunts" featurette
  • Zoë Bell’s Screen Test
  • Eve’s Tips for Killing

    GHOST MONTH - July 21st

Any movie that compares itself to THE HAUNTING IN CONNECTICUT should be shot. I get comparing it to something like THE GRUDGE, since it was a fairly decent flick that made a TON of cash, but CONNECTICUT sucked balls and didn't make that much money. I mean, not really. So then there's GHOST MONTH, a cross between the two. It sure looks like it could be another one of GRUDGE's STD sequels, and to tell you the truth, the title has me perplexed... just what the hell does GHOST MONTH even mean??? I guess you'll have to rent it to find out...

    The Goods:

  • Audio commentary with cast members Marina Resa, Shirley To, and Rick Irvin
  • Interview with director Danny Draven
  • Behind the scenes featurette
  • Still Gallery

    SUPERNATURAL (S4) - September 4th

I've been told a billion times to check out SUPERNATURAL, and now that the 4th season is over and I have all summer to kill, I may end up taking a stab at it from the beginning, and work my way through the three previous seasons before Season 4 hits DVD in September. And why not? MY BLOODY VALENTINE 3D meets FRIDAY THE 13TH, with zombies rising from the grave and other supernatural shit going down... I'm so totally there!

    The Goods:

  • Ceator commentary on 3 key episodes
  • Extended/unaired scenes
  • Mythologies of Supernatural: From Heaven to Hell 3-Section Featurette
  • Key Mythological Precepts
  • Gag reel

    BLU-RAY Covers:

    Honorable Mentions:

I STILL KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER (Blu-ray) –July 14th – Because after all these years, this movie still sucks. And where's the Jack Black love?

SEE NO EVIL (Blu-ray) – August 11th – Because this was a surprisingly entertaining slasher flick that you should definitely check out.

CREEPSHOW (Blu-ray) - September 8th – Because the original classic from Stephen King and George A. Romero is gonna look amazing in super High-Def!

That's all for this week! Stay tuned every week for your latest DVD news, and as always, feel free to shoot me an email (ammongilbert@joblo.com ) for any & all DVD news, scoops, and easter eggs!
