Predators director!

The speculation has been astounding for who the director will be for the Robert Rodriguez produced PREDATORS, a sequel/reboot to the 1987 classic PREDATOR. The biggest names on the short list for directors included Nimrod Antal (VACANCY), and the great Neil Marshall (DOG SOLDIERS). I had my hopes up real f*ckin' high for Marshall, but alas, that is not to be...

According to AICN, who talked directly to Rodriguez himself, Antal is the official director for PREDATORS, based on his work on VACANCY and the upcoming action flick ARMORED.

Straight from the horses mouth (aka Harry Knowles) 3 days ago Robert told me he'd decided on Antal as the man burdened with the awesome challenge of taking the sting of suckage and the sewer pipe of hell that has been placed into that crazy cool mouth of the PREDATOR in the two AVP disposable flicks.

And there you have it. It doesn't get any more official than that folks, especially considering that Rodriguez and Knowles are personal friends and not just professional acquaintances.

But more than that, Knowles interviews Rodriguez and asks him all sorts of questions, including why isn't he directing PREDATORS, will PREDATORS be filmed in Austin, TX, and just how big and grand of scale a movie are talking about here? All those answers and more can be found by heading THIS WAY and checking out the full chat for yourself.

While I'm bummed about Marshall not getting the gig, I think Rodriguez has a good head on his shoulder and wouldn't hire a f*cking no-talent ass-clown to helm this thing. So Nimrod, I hope you're the man to take the PREDATOR series in the direction it should have gone 20 years ago.

VACANCY's Kate Beckinsale!

Spilled Blood: Nimrod Antal and I share the same birthday.

The thing that I'm not digging is the fact that most of it (if not all) will be shot in Austin Texas, at Rodriguez's studio. I just don't want this movie to end up looking like SIN CITY meets SHARKBOY AND LAVAGIRL. Go...
