GRACE - September 15th
Being pregnant is a scary experience--not just for the woman, but for all of those around her. She's illogical, she's cranky, she's moody, she's actually one step above clinically insane. So GRACE, about a demonic pregnancy starring Jordan Ladd has a frightfest of terror written all over it--and I can't wait to check it out! Seriously, the buzz surrounding this thing has been stellar, the trailers, posters, and images are rockin', and everyone I know who's seen it (all 1 of them) dug the shite outta it. Count me on when this sucker hits DVD. Nice f*ckin' cover, too!
The Goods:
GHOST IMAGE - August 25th
Wow, this one looks flippin' amazing, doesn't it? A list of no-name stars in a movie with one of the lamest titles ever put together. But wait, is it that chick from CLUELESS on the cover? Not Alicia Silverstone, but the other one... yup, I'm pretty sure that's her. So I take that back, one big has-been star, and a bunch of no-names. They should subtitle this sucker 'A Waste of Time' or 'Probably Pretty Crappy' and take the higher road of truth-in-advertising. GHOST IMAGE is not the sequel to GHOST DOG or prequel to GHOST DAD. It has nothing to do with either of those films. Wait... isn't this called SHUTTER?
The Goods:
THE LIVING DEAD AT MANCHESTER’S MORGUE (Blu Ray) - October 27th
If this is one of the best zombie movies ever made, how come I've never seen it, let alone never heard of it before? Am I just out of the zombie loop? Is this thing bigger than anything we've ever posted about and then some? I'd have to side with myself and say, no... no it isn't. Some dude saw it, loved it, reviewed it, and Blue Underground pimped that shit out hardcore. Not a bad way to do things, because let's face it... I'm gonna rent this sucker now that I know it's one of the best. Regardless of the lame-ass cover art.
The Goods:
ABDUCTION –August 25th – Because for a little indie flick, the cover is quite effective!
DREAMS OF THE DEAD – August 25th – Because it's labeled as an "erotic haunting." What the hell?
EARTH DAY - September 1st – Because there's a topless chick on the cover with a big knife!
