Scrimm joins Bubba 2?!

I liked BUBBA HO-TEP for what it was, but don't consider myself a big fan of the Don Coscarelli dark comedy. There's just something keeping it from reaching the heights it aims for... maybe it's the budget, maybe it's the villain... I just can't put my finger on why it doesn't work for me as much as it should (and as much as it does for others). That said, I'm certainly on board with a follow-up, even if Bruce Campbell is out. Who better than Ron Perlman to strap on the mutton chops? And with Paul Giamatti playing Tom Parker? Yes, I can live with that...
Ron Perlman spoke with Fangoria the other night, and revealed that indeed it still seems like all is good with BUBBA NOSFERATU. I’ll be done shooting [his cable series] SONS OF ANARCHY in September, and we’re hoping to get into production on BUBBA in my hiatus between seasons two and three. I just spoke to [actor] Paul Giamatti [set to play Elvis’ manager, Colonel Tom Parker] and Don Coscarelli this morning, and we’re just moving the ball down the field, trying to get her done.”
Coscarelli's PHANTASM star Angus Scrimm will also most likely be in the flick, as "a Boris Karloff-like horror star who Elvis meets up with (pre-HO-TEP) in Las Vegas on the set of a vampire movie." Scrimm, as Fango puts is, is being recruited for the role. I doubt Coscorelli will have much trouble convincing his longtime friend to join the fun...
