30 Days 2 Cast/Synopsis
Earlier this week we hit you all with some casting news for the upcoming 30 DAYS OF NIGHT sequel: 30 DAYS OF NIGHT: DARK DAYS. Well that shite's been confirmed today as well as another nice update.
Not only did Ghost House Pictures confirm the casting of Rhys Coiro, Mia Kirshner, Harold Perrineau, Kiele Sanchez and Diora Baird (below) but they've also released a pretty juicy synopsis! Check it out:
It's been a year since the Alaskan town of Barrow's population was decimated by vampires during its annual month long sunset. Riddled with grief over the death of her husband, bound by nightmares and void of all emotions beyond hate and sorrow, Stella has spent the past months traveling the world, trying to convince others that vampires exist. Met with skepticism and laughter, Stella is ready to throw in the towel when a group of lost souls offers an incredible opportunity: the chance to exact revenge upon Lilith, the vampire queen responsible for the assault on her sleepy Alaskan town. With nothing remaining to live for, and nothing left to fear, Stella joins their mission and ventures into the uncharted underbelly of Los Angeles where she pushes herself to the most extreme limits to stop the evil from striking again.
Unfortunately Melissa George will not be reprising her role as 'Stella.' Instead it's been announced Kiele Sanchez will step in. The 'lost souls' will be Perrineau, Coiro and Baird while Kirshner steps in to play the vampire queen. Groovy.
The flick is currently in principal photography in Vancouver, Canada with a straight-to-DVD release planned for next year. It comes from director Ben Ketai, who also penned the script with Steve Niles. Niles is of course the writer behind the graphic novel DARK DAYS is being adapted from. We'll be keeping a close eye on this one so be sure to keep it here for updates.

I've seen Daybreakers at the Atlantic Film Fest, and I'd say it's be the best modern Vamp flick yet (I'd tie it with Let the Right One In).
