Tron on PD's Ouija
Nov. 2, 2009
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Platinum Dunes guys and Universal Pictures have hired Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz, the writers of TRON LEGACY, to write the upcoming action / adventure / horror flick OUIJA BOARD, based on the popular Ouija Board game.
Movies based on board games can only go so far, so it should be interesting to see where they take this flick. Details have come in about the plot, but mostly just a tease, claiming that certain rules of the game — never use it alone, never use it in a graveyard, always say good-bye — figure into the plot.
I guess that was a "no duh" statement, as if they're basing a movie on a board game, all they really have to work with are rules, right? I'm guessing the film's getting a little more steam based on the use of the Ouija Board in PARANORMAL ACTIVITY. Hell, even a Quija movie will be able to ride the success train on that one for a little while...
For now, we wait to see what Kitsis and Horowitz can crank out. I've always been a big fan of the Quija Board, I'm just surprised it's actually taken this long to make it into a movie. But of course, whether a movie or a game is in need of being remade, Platinum Dunes is there to save the day. Stick around for more on OUIJA BOARD as we hear it!
