Toolbox 2 poster
Nov. 3, 2009
A good handful of months back, we featured a pretty cool little teaser-trailer for Dean Jones’ TBK: THE TOOLBOX MURDERS in our videos section. Well, cut to the now, where we have a bit more plot details and a sick looking poster for the film (seen to the right).
Jones, who’s worked makeup on everything from BLUE VELVET to the 2008 remake of DAY OF THE DEAD, now turns a virgin writing/directing hand (that just sounds wrong) to a Tobe Hooper sequel (a man Jones has worked with in the past), which:
Picks up directly after the events Tobe Hooper's 2003 version of THE TOOLBOX MURDERS; and intensifies the terrifying exploration into one of Hollywood's most twisted and morbid serial killers in the annals of American history. Survivors Nell and Stephen continue their night of Hell as they're rushed to the nearby Hollywood Memorial hospital. Meanwhile, next-generation , tech-savvy CSI detectives Cole and Barnes coordinate with a hard-nosed, LAPD criminal profiler McGavin to exhume TBK's modern day tomb and uncover its origins, leading toward a shocking revelation involving old Hollywood's seedy underground and one doctor's secret past.
Shit. The plot of this thing could be about 4 huff-heads basing glue for all care. Seriously, just consider a cast of such extolled horror actors as Lance Henriksen, Tony Todd, Jeffrey Combs, Brian Krause, not to mention long-lived character actor Red West and recent horror newcomer Alexander Isaiah Thomas – and it probably doesn’t take much more than that to want to see the film.
Not sold? Catch the teaser we’ve had up for awhile now for a refresher.
TBK: THE TOOLBOX MURDERS is holding to a 2010 release.

Spilled Blood: Who else fell in love with Angela Bettis (above) in the movie MAY? They really should of brought her back for TBK.
