Woman in Black in 3D
Nov. 5, 2009
I'm always up for a twisted ghost story. When there's talk of a supernatural romp heading our way that has the potential to scare me silly you can bet your bottom dollar I'm going to take notice! That's the case with THE WOMAN IN BLACK.
Personally at first glance that title doesn't catch my attention. Hell I dig woman wearing black, just scroll below, but that title doesn't exactly scream 'freaky ghost story' to me. But alas titles can be deceiving. News from the American Film Market today has Hammer Films adapting the 1983 novel from Susan Hill into a 3D film! They've already hired a writer in the form of Jane Goldman.
THE WOMAN IN BLACK follows Arthur Kipps, a young solicitor who is summoned to Crythin Gifford, a small market town on the east coast of the United Kingdom to attend to the funeral of Mrs Alice Drablow, an elderly widow who lived alone in the desolate and secluded Eel Marsh House. Children screaming, unexplained noises, chilling events and all kinds of nifty haunts ensue!
I don't know much about this WOMAN IN BLACK but apparently this is one spooky story so you can go ahead and sign me up! Hopefully this one gets put on the fast track. We'll keep an eye out on any WOMAN IN BLACK updates so be sure to keep it here for news as we hear it!

Spilled Blood: THE WOMAN IN BLACK has seen both the stage and British TV but this'll be it's first time hitting the big screen.
