Machine Man movie
Nov. 5, 2009
Here's something very cool and inspirational: Mandalay Pictures has picked up the rights to MACHINE MAN, which is something of an ongoing online serial. (No, nothing to do with the Marvel comic, but I had to put something here.) Author Max Barry reveals one new page a day on his official site, taking in suggestions for readers. Supposedly, he still doesn't know how the tale is going to end.
And what's the story about? Consider it a low-tech IRON MAN, with a suspense/thriller bent. It centers on a tech engineer who's tired of going through life average and unnoticed, so he replaces parts of his body with titanium upgrades of his own design. He then discovers that he isn't the only one with plans for his new body.
Head on over HERE if you want to read the first 40 pages or so of MACHINE MAN. (However, if you want to wait, the whole thing will be released in book form in 2011.) Mandalay's Peter Guber and Cathy Schulman will produce the project alongside Barry, but no writer or director are yet on board.
Spilled Blood: If you could, would you upgrade your body with titanium?
