Gough brings Drought
Nov. 7, 2009
Don't you just love flicks that show us how the world's going to end? It seems people love to see the destruction of mankind... as long as it isn't true. Hell it's entertaining so why not?!
We've already got two big 'mankind-ending' movies heading our way in 2012 and THE ROAD... well according to The Hollywood Reporter we can add a third flick to that mix: THE DROUGHT. Pretty straight forward. THE DROUGHT is the story of a desperate couple who have avoided the mass exoduses and eked out an existence in their suburban home. They head for London in a last-ditch attempt to find the water they badly need to save themselves and their ailing daughter. What they encounter along the way forces them into a bloody battle for survival.
Sounds a lot like THE ROAD... no? Hopefully the two are completely different adventures. Works International and Mann Made Films have already tapped SALVAGE's Lawrence Gough to direct a script from Colin O'Donnell. Jonescompany's Robert Jones is in line to produce with Scott Mann, James Edward Barker and Alan Graves executive producing. Filming is set to happen this Summer.
So what says you guys? Think this one will be a ROAD ripoff or do you think there's something there that might just keep us interested? As always keep it here for updates!
