No More Oldboy?

It seemed the general genre community was in agreement on one thing recently: The Steven Spielberg/Will Smith OLDBOY adaptation was absurd! Agreed? Agreed. Well it seems our prayers have been answered!

According to LatinoReview the project is officially dead! Whether it was because the insane backlash from fans isn't really known but what we do know is that DreamWorks and Mandate could not reach an agreement on the material so DreamWorks have walked, taking Spielberg and Smith with them!

Well that came out of nowhere huh? But alas this is great news isn't it?! Spielberg and Smith are two of the most talented guys working in the industry today... but they have no place anywhere near any sort of OLDBOY adaptation. I'm pretty sure even they'd understand that. So for now there is NO OLDBOY film on the way. Good news right? Enjoy it while it lasts because I'm sure this one will pop up again sometime soon...

Spilled Blood: Since it's inevitably going to happen... who would you like to see direct/star in an OLDBOY adaptation?

of everyone thinking that if its foreign then it needs to be remade. Even American films going overseas are starting to be remade and its utter crap. Now if only we could see "Let Me In" die off I would be very happy.

My ma loves good horror movies, but I doubt she'd wanna see half the shit that goes down in the original. Will Smith locked in a box and beating people down with a hammer...maybe.
As for when it comes back from the grave: Keep Smith, add Scorsese, and FOR GOD'S SAKE, if DiCaprio steps foot towards the project let him be the guy boning his sister. That's the only involvement I'd accept from him.
What happened to the good old days with Scorsese and DeNiro?

Thank God!
Everyone who was hoping for a remake should pick up the original DVD and watch the flick again. It can't get any better than that.
