Now, take this with a grain of salt, since it's coming from the same folks who said that Chris Rock was lending his voice to Grand Theft Auto: Vice City (he didn't).

Apparently, Ashton Kutcher's name has shown up on the cast listing for next year's remake of EVIL DEAD, which will be produced by 'the three amigos' (Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert and Bruce Campbell). No other cast member is up there, but as you can guess, people have been going nuts on the IMDB boards wondering as to who's next. Personally, I'd rather not have one of my most beloved horror films ever dragged into this Hollywood machine to
be remade. I was so-so about DAWN OF THE DEAD being remade, and even then it couldn't match the original. Geez, when will Hollywood get it that you can't get the same success from the original on name alone.

As for Kutcher, if he indeed is in the film, there's only room for one Ashley J. Williams in my book, and that man is Bruce Campbell (it's been out there that Kutcher has said that he wants to play Ash, but that's all that's out there).

We'll keep on this for sure, just in case we turn out to be punk'd.

This all smells of idiotic BS to me. I know that Bruce Campbell has been throwing around the joke that he'd like to see Ashton in the Evild Dead remake be cause who wouldn't want to see him raped by a tree (I'm fairly certain I had first seen that as a news article here). Something tells me that all that is happening here is that these people overheard something of this sort and everything ex...

Holy crap this sucks
However I agree with CravenKruger and Ilovehorror that Nicholas Brendon should play the Ash role if the remake has to be done he does look somewhat like Bruce. If that doesn't happen then screw the remake I won't go see it and the only reason I went to see the remake of Dawn of the Dead was my friends dragged me into it otherwise I would have never watched it I prefered the original always have...

I agree with the first guy, Nicholas Brendan should get the part, I mean if you watch Buffy, he has the same mannerisims as Campbell. Screw Kelso!!!

If the evil dead has to be remade then Nicholas Brendon (the dude from Buffy the Vampire Slayer) would be the best pick for the role. He looks a lot like Bruce and i think he could play that role.

PLEASE GOD NO!
I would rather just see a Evil Dead 4 with Bruce Campbell and not have a remake. Although, since a remake is being made, I have to say that if Ashton Kutcher gets the role I am going to just not see it so he won't ruin the Evil Dead legacy.
PS- I thought the new Dawn of the Dead was better than the original.
