Dushku does Alphabet
Rob Schmidt, director of the highly over-rated (in my useless opinion, anyway) TCM rip-off WRONG TURN, is at it again. No, not another cannibals-in-the-woods slasher/torture flick, but a flick depicting the true-life murder mystery of the Alphabet Murders that took Rochester, NY by storm in the 1970s, cleverly titled THE ALPHABET KILLER.
The story follows a police investigator on the case of a serial killer who's M.O. is killing little girls whose first and last name both begin with the letter of the alphabet of the town their dead bodies were found in. And yes, this is based on truth, so some sick f*ck out there actually did that.
The police investigator in question will be played by Eliza Dushku, teaming her once again with Schmidt in hopes to make one slick and faithful retelling of these horrible events. As Schmidt tells IndieWIRE, "It's a very grim story about misery, but it's also about a woman trying to fix herself and I think the audience will be sympathetic to her."

Sounds like Schmidt has a lot of heart and soul into this project, which generally means he won't make a pile of crap- if the script (by Tom Malloy) is solid and the directing is true, I'd say we could have a winner on our hands... if nothing else, at least we'll have Dushku here to look at.
