AITH has joined forces with Mr. Rob Zombie and fine horror sites Dread Central, Bloody Disgusting, Shock Till You Drop and the Halloween Mask Association to bring you THE LEGION OF MICHAEL. To take part in THE LEGION you'll need to do 3 things:
1-
Whip out your favorite
Michael Myers mask.
2- When you go see Zombie's retelling of HALLOWEEN in the theatres you
hit it with the mask on and a
camera at hand.
3- You take a picture of yourself in
Michael Myers get-up at the theatre.
You then send your pictures to all of the websites running this contest (mentioned above). Yup that way you have four chances of winning! Each site will pick one winner (in terms of best pic) and that lucky bastard(ette) will win a prop from the film. Yeah, your heard me...A PROP FROM THE FILM!
Pictures of the winners and the runners-up will be posted on each website for all to see. The contest will run from the film's opening day (Friday August 31st, 2007) to the end of the weekend (Sunday September 2nd, 2007). Entries that kick in after Sunday night will not be accepted. Now, here's what Mr. Zombie had to say about the contest:

always knew that Halloween had die-hard fans, but it wasn't until I began work
on my new version of Halloween that I really begin to understand just how
insanely deep the love of Michael Myers goes. I take working on this new version
of Halloween very serious and I especially take the character of Michael Myers
dead serious.
I know the fans are worried I've change things about this iconic character, but I haven't. I've added some things, but haven't taken away any of the classic elements we all love. Come august 31, I think you are gonna be pretty f*cking happy."
"Anyway this is where the idea of The Legion of Michael began. So many fans have Michael masks and dress as Michael for Halloween, I figured f*ck it, let's' take it to a new level. Obviously cynics will treat it like some lame publicity thing, but that's not the intention. I have tried my best to keep anything cheap or exploitive away from Halloween. I want it to be created by the fans and for the fans who love this character. Michael is back on the big screen, bigger and badder than ever! So let's f*cking live it up."
This promo is all about "fun times"! Common sense should be applied - we don't want anyone getting into any shite over this and we assume ZERO responsibility for those who do. With that spelled out, we recommend that:
- Contestants not enter stores, disrupt businesses or destroy property, unless it is cleared beforehand by the store owner
- Contestants are not to directly approach anyone, much less chase them. If a person shies away, move along
- Contestants should not block traffic, or disrupt their surroundings. A location should be exactly the way it was when you arrived after you leave it
- If you're asked to remove the mask, do so without incident or protest. Again, common sense.
E-mail addresses as to where to send your pics and the nature of the props/prizes will be let out of the trick or treat bag as we get closer to the event.
