THE MASTER SAYS:
I started off loving movies in general from your Peckinpah’s to your Kubrick’s until I was stung by a certain genre called the Horror Flick! From there on I decided I wanted to make my own films while acting in them. My strategy was to cast my project with name actors that I had admired off those cool ass flicks that I grew up with. Then I'd use their names to sell the film with the foreign markets specially in mind. Easier said than done.

I didn't care about the odds, for I had that burning determination to do a movie with these dudes and nothing was going to stop me. Well guess what! After two years of hustling,  never ending phone calls to companies, agents and financers, my dream of producing a low budget thriller with name actors attached was going to be a reality! The script was optioned, the name cast was locked and the Sales Agent was lining up the money. I could do no wrong I though...and yes...I was DEAD WRONG in that assumption.

Due to fate, it all gradually fell apart: untimely deaths, market changes, bottom feeders that led me astray with lies... endless crap was thrown at me and the project eventually died! Coppola and Gilliam if you could hear me, I know how you feel! The film crashed and killed me financially (since I had invested so much of my own dough). Ouch! But guess what! Like Jason at the end of “Freddy VS Jason,” I am still standing today and am about to embark on doing it again (taking a different angle of course) after a two year restructuring campaign.  If you love horror so much. Make your own film! Is it worth it! Yes!! Do you have to be crazy! It helps!! Now go out there and make a movie!

THE MISTRESS SAYS:
So why should I be the Mistress for 2004?
After being a runner-up last year, it gave me a lot of confidence in myself, and together with some rock solid support from my husband Rich (Fettdog), I took the brave step of leaving the security of my managerial job of 8 years to follow my dream of working in the media!

So, at 31 years of age, I’ve gone back to college and I’m almost finished a hard year of intense studying, literally working day and night, to be a media make up artist and media wig maker. Ultimately I want to work with rock/punk groups and on the darker side of the industry, particularly as I love doing the blood and guts special effects work as well as the more arty and glamorous side of things like catwalk and stage plays.

Being mistress would be the crowning glory of a year that has seen me go from dreaming the dream to being just a couple of steps away from actually living the dream! Thanks to the confidence boost of being a runner up last year, I’ve been working my ass off and really promoting myself around the underground London scene, where we are often to be found walking the dark side of life among like-minded souls (and we do live this life to the full 24/7!).  Being Mistress would give me that elusive exposure to the industry (and maybe that elusive break!) and carry a real heavyweight punch due to the respect Arrow’s site gets.

I’m on a mission, I have the courage and the vision, this is my life now, and Arrow has played a part in giving me the conviction to follow my dream, so thank you for that!
