Source: Counting Down
A scooper from Counting Down reports on a pretty funny incident from the set of "The Castle". James Gandolfini who plays the evil prison warden gave the set extras a bit of a show. Last Wednesday, hundreds of extras were all lying on their backs on the ground for a scene when, from a prison window high above, Gandolfini dropped his trousers and mooned his prisoners. BTW, there's rumor of yet another casting call for the film on Saturday, April 21st
At the Holiday Inn, at Rivergate/Goodlettsville, TN. 11:00a.m. - 3:00p.m. Perhaps some of the extras were offended by the big Soprano butt...

| "Exorcist" will appear on Good Friday! |
April 10,

|
Source: Rotten Tomatoes
Looks like the film will be a go on friday the 13th after all. The Premier (Steve Bracks) of the Australian state of Victoria has overturned a ban on the screening of the restored version of "The Exorcist" on Good Friday. The ban had triggered demonstrations throughout the Australian state whose primary city is Melbourne. In overturning the order, the Premier also ordered a review of the 1958 Theaters Act that permits the government to stop the showing of certain films on Good Friday and Christmas. Meeting with reporters on Saturday, Premier Bracks called the ban "inappropriate" and said that it had been issued by a low-level bureaucrat who had failed to consult with his superiors. Good onya Bracks!!

| New "Macabre" |
April 10,
2001 |
|
Source: Variety
Variety reports that Victoria Strouse ("Mary Jane's Last Dance") has agreed to write a remake of the William Castle horror pic "Macabre". The film will be produced by Joel Silver under Silver and Zemeckis' joint label, Dark Castle Entertainment, for Warner Bros. Zemeckis is reportedly planning to direct. "Macabre" is expected to be budgeted in the neighborhood of $25 million.
Strouse will update the original "Macabre," in which a doctor's daughter is buried alive and her dad has just five hours to find and rescue her.
In the 1958 release of "Macabre," Castle included a Lloyds of London insurance policy against "death by fright" with admission and gave ticket buyers a badge that said, "I'm no chicken. I saw "Macabre". Silver has said that edgy marketing hooks and next-generation f/x "will play heavily in the production and release of Dark Castle titles." Among Dark Castle's top contenders for other Castle remakes is 1959's "The Tingler."

| Surprise endings for Freddy and Jason |
April 9,
2001 |
|
Source: News Reaper
Thanks to scooper film freak. He reports that there will be multiple endings to the "Jason vs. Freddy" movie. One will be "Jason friendly" where
he wins, the other will be "Freddy friendly" where Freddy wins.
There is also news that there is going to be a final version
where neither wins, instead they both kill themselves trying
to kill each other. Reportedly the cinemas will be
given both so it will be a mystery who wins. There really hasn't been a lot of info released about this film as development has been taking it's sweet time, most likely waiting for the response to "Jason X".
