I just came across this rather in-depth, four and a half minute long featurette for AVATAR which has way, way more new footage than I thought I’d see.

The cast and crew talk about working on the set, though the information itself isn’t anything particularly new. Everyone relays how in awe of the project they are and James Cameron talks about how he had this entire thing in his head for a decade but was just waiting for technology to catch up with his imagination. We’ve heard it before, but with all the excellent new footage, this is definitely worth watching all the way through.

Extra Tidbit: They should have done more than one "Avatar Day."

I don't know what's wrong with most of you, lol, I think that looked awesome.

The only thing I'm afraid of is that this movie is not going to do as great as they thought, mainly due to advertising.

Only us moive fans are really getting the low down on this film, but I'm not seeing any billboards, tv spots, posters (mega posters at the theaters), viral, etc.

The filmmakers talk about Avatar like its this holy grail and somehow I'm still not sold on the idea that is THAT great. I guess time will tell.

I'm as excited for Avatar as all of you guys, but the last time a legendary creator told us he had the story in his head for a decade but just waited for the technology to catch up to it we got Episode I.

I don't think that bit about his brother was a spoiler at all. On the contrary, I think it's a plot point that could've been revealed in the trailer. Since the beginning I've been wondering why they needed a guy in a wheelchair when anyone could control an avatar. Now it makes sense.

True enough, but I still don't see it as that big of a deal. I think it's something they could've put in the synopsis.

"A disabled Marine is given a second chance when his twin brother dies unexpectedly and only his DNA can control the avatar needed for a mission of utmost importance, blah blah blah."

Seriously, it's not like we know Bruce Willis is a ghost before...

Seriously, it's not like we know Bruce Willis is a ghost before the movie has even been released, thereby making it pointless to even go see it. But whatever, to each his own.

Holy...
That was amazing, minor spoiler about jake's brother but it's cool to know there is a lot of story we probably still don't know about. The new footage looked amazing too. I can't wait!

Avatar day was really cool, I'd like to see other promotions (for other movies) use the same advertisement method in the future.
