BATTLE IN SEATTLE

Time for another trailer for another Oscar bait ensemble drama, folks. This time, Stuart Townsend wrote and directed BATTLE IN SEATTLE, a story about the riots that resulted when protesters showed up at a meeting of the World Trade Organization in 1999. The all-star cast includes Charlize Theron, Andre Benjamin, Michelle Rodriguez, Woody Harrelson, Ray Liotta, Ivana Milicevic, Connie Nielsen and Joshua Jackson. Check out the heart wrenching drama-ness below. The film opens September 19th in limited release.

Extra Tidbit: Townsend has this at the end of his IMDB biography: "His most recent projects include Queen of the Damned (2002) and a romantic relationship with Charlize Theron." How does Theron feel, you think, knowing she's really just a project?

Great forgotten story
I was in the Seattle area when this was going on (1999) - everybody understood that it was a select group of people breaking windows/setting fires and looking back I think we'll find that they made the whole thing as sensational as it was - it will probably be the last "great" act of dissent by the American people thanks to post 9/11 america and has since been forgotten. I was in the Seattle area when this was going on (1999) - everybody understood that it was a select group of people breaking windows/setting fires and looking back I think we'll find that they made the whole thing as sensational as it was - it will probably be the last "great" act of dissent by the American people thanks to post 9/11 america and has since been forgotten. So long as the movie is not too preachy, this could be a fascinating and inspiring story to tell. I'm excitedly crossing my fingers.
