Bay talks TF2, F13 Jul. 15, 2008
Source: EW.comFox News
by: Dave Davis

Haha -- according to director/demolitionist Michael Bay, us entertainment journalist/fansite types are the "Internet crazies". Okay, not far off the mark, actually. But I digress.

Entertainment Weekly squeezed the carnage craftsman for info on TRANSFORMERS: REVENGE OF THE FALLEN, but came up virtually empty. All he'd admit was: "When we were writing the script, I said to the writers, "I hate sequels that try to make it to the third movie. Pretend like we’re never having a third movie, so let’s go for broke on the second one. I hate those cliffhangers! Let’s just make this movie stand on its own." I really feel this movie is not a forced sequel." You know what that means -- fitting in that much more shit blowin' up!

As for his Platinum Dunes-produced remake of FRIDAY THE 13th, he says it will follow a standard path: "It’s a reconception of the original. We’re introducing a whole group of new kids. What we always try to do is add a little bit of freshness to these movies that were really scary back then and update them for a new audience." But there are also a few surprises in store for Voorhees family fans: "You’re just not going to believe the first 12 minutes! It’s a twist in itself." (SPOILER: Jason is now played by Megan Fox!) Bay also reveals the new 13th will draw plot points from the first two flicks in the original series. Read what else he spilled RIGHT HERE.

Meanwhile, Bay's pouty-lipped, flat-tummied young TRANSFORMERS starlet (and new Jason) Megan Fox would only reveal to Fox News (no relation) that she had to pack on a few pounds for the sequel (Bay don't dig no scrawny chicks) and that it's set a while after the first: "At this point Shia and I have been dating for two years so we're at the bickering stage, like an old married couple." Sweet, more comic relief that was so clearly lacking in the first movie...

Extra Tidbit: Bay was apparently not amused by his faux draft of THE DARK KNIGHT. C'mon, Mikey -- it was funny.

I love when the small average person who writes a faux script gets around to big powerful people like michael bay to read.

just shows you how powerful the internets are

I think it's such an awesome idea not to treat TF2 as a "bridge" movie in a trilogy. Waaay to many films are doing that these days, the POTC series suffered because it was crammed into a trilogy. I believe it would have been much more enjoyable if we saw those characters on different adventures that weren't directly tied to one another (I'm talking the second and third movies obviously(

i love Michael Bay and his movies! I always like to start any post about Bay off like that, cuz it has become "Cool" to hate on him!

as fo ryour extra tidbit.. having read the article... it sounds like he found The Dark Knight parody to be funny, it doesnt sound like he was upset about it at all... which, why would he be?!

Ouiji has potential to be a really chilling Ghost movie!

yeah i heard the Bethlehem steel stuff was crazy, my brother saw it. but onto Bay himself.....why does he have to blow everything up. i mean he could just blow up the entire planet but that would only be one BIG explosion, and you know he wouldnt be satisfied with that. he would have like continuous explosions blanketing the entire surface, while underground atomic blast shake the very tectonic plates we all live on... the resulting carnage would only be compounded by quick shots of random explosions from pipe burts to a variety of miscellaneous buildings etc... the entire Earth would begin to crack and break apart and the very core of our world would explode with the power of 1000 suns.....only for time to be reversed so it could all happen again....loop that for 2 hours and you get "The Michael Bay Experience"

I think it's like an addiction for him: once the shit starts going up in flames, he just can't stop himself from planting more grenades. Seriously I watched them take out Bethlehem Steel and it was the most amazing thing ever. People were cheering from the fence line miles away. How awesome was that?! And I now there's more confirmation of an aircraft carrier being in the film...my bro and I think it's Fortress Maximus.

From the article it doesn't sound like he 'wasn't amused' by the Michael Bay's The Dark Knight script. I'm sure he probably had a smile on his face when replying to that question. :P
