NOT THAT GREAT
I don't know if its better than Get Smart but its not that good. It would have been more interesting to hear people from each culture talk, maybe all answer the same question or something. A bunch of people doing the same dance in different places... I smiled for about the first 4 places then it seemed to go on and on and on... without anything interesting happening. I would rate this video as 2.5 out of 5 on the "neat-o-meter". |

This guy was the biggest thing on youtube a while back. I loved it then and I love it now. This makes me feel like I'm part of the human race.
As for stride, it does not make me want to buy stride(whatever it is) |

Timpura, I'm glad someone has brains and figured out the Stride thing. On his web site he actually explains hpw it all happened, and indeed how Stride paid for it!
As for the video, I dug it. Made me smile a lot, and without being too corny, made me realize that there is still some good in the world. |

HAS ANYONE NOTICED...
The video thanks Stride at the end, so most likely, the people who made it didn't pay for crap. So all the people who are complaing about the artisitic value/documentary value lost or that some kid's rich parents paid for him to travel the world, it's most likely that Stride (not his parents) paid for the trip and told him (who may be a Stride employee) to make a video that gets people's attention and to put Stride at the end. Next people are gonna complain about the ball-girl who "caught" the ball off the wall at the minor league game because she should be an All-Star rather than a cheap parlor trick, or they could jump into jeans, if they had parents who would buy them a hundred pair. Get over yourself, it's advertising. |

I LOVE IT
pr_frink..well said. i agree 100%. it's similar to when a child says he hates something just because everyone else loves it. we've heard it all before: "i hated the matrix/lord of the rings/star wars". I mean these are clearly well made films that have made a significant impact on society and that are loved by millions, if not billions of people. but there's always that one guy who "HATES" one or all of these films, for no other reason than to go against the grain. i think we should be able to take something away from any film, including "where the hell is matt". maybe it's not as culturally, morally or philosophically significant as some are claiming, but as others have said, if it can make just one person smile, it has done its duty. |

Why do so many people assume something is horrible if they don't enjoy it? That's all you read on these kinds of sites anymore. It's either completely amazing or the worst thing ever created. My guess is that the people who didn't get something out of this decided to hate it and be the cool, cynical guy because other people really enjoyed it. And even if for some reason you truly hated it (which I highly doubt) why chastise others for liking it? Who gives a shit if someone enjoyed a harmless, four-minute video of different people dancing around the world? People like smooveluv and dellamorte dellamore need to get over themselves. |

NAIL ON THE HEAD
is what you guys just hit.
If I was rich enough to travel the world with a cameraman, I'd dance a jig also. The whole profound enjoy your life no matter where you are is the same recycled new age garbage we've seen for years (Mike Myers couldn't even make it funny).
Feel free to stick up for this as art, but all I see is a series of wasted opportunities for somebody to create some type of meaningful global documentary. Instead, he feels the most valuable thing audiences can take away from such a trip - is him.
And Benj - I think its find for "underprivileged idiots to bitch about" things that suck - and this sucks. It sucks big, herpes-infested donkey nards.
Nice that you think we suck. |
