Rose McGowan Who's boobs? Rose McGowan's boobs.

Granted, McGowan's sweater puppets are certainly in the top tier of Hollywood but are they powerful enough to derail a big budget Hollywood production? Apparently, they are. So enamored is Robert Rodriguez of his new beau, it seems, that, according to the NY Observer, because he refused to budge on casting McGowan as the bikini clad bombshell space warrior Barbarella in the big budget remake he recently signed on to direct, Universal has backed out of financing the film.

Of course, all this comes from the ever present "secret source" and Rodriguez contends that the problem came because he wasn't willing to accept Universal slashing the film's budget to sixty million when he had a much grander scale in mind. Universal, he says, loved McGowan in the role but weren't willing to give him leeway on the budget.

So, was it the boobs? Or was it the budget? You decide.

Rose McGowan

Extra Tidbit: McGowan was born in Italy.

Rodriguez couldn't make a good movie if he had a 60 billion dollar budget and an actress that was genetically created in a lab to win oscars. He'd still write and edit (or "cut" as he likes to put it, which kind of makes you vomit in your mouth that somebody would go to such lengths to make editing sound hip) the thing, neither of which he can do for shit, and it'd come across as being nothing...

And, to top it off, he'd rape Austin, Texas for cheap shooting locations while casting highly paid actors from across the country, all the while claiming to be contributing to the growing film scene of the city. Asswipe.

There should never be a movie made where McGowan is the lead. She is a pretty girl who can barely act on charmed, dont forget that she actually starred in charmed and she was probably the worst out of the main 3. Could you see any of the others actually headlining a $100 million dollar movie. I dont care if you had all 3 of them it would suck just like that show did.

Rodriguez is fibbing!
Rodriguez filmed 'Spy Kids' for pocket change. He's known as one of the cheapest film makers on the planet. It is highly unbelievable that he need $60 Million+ to film Barbarella. Obviously Universal said the exact same thing everyone else said at the casting news..."Oh my God, he's casting his girlfriend as the lead! The terrible actress with the bad plastic surgery disfigured face!" Universal...

Probably boobs
Seeing as how Rodriguez is a monster at providing the most of every penny spent on screen (DESPERADO for $7 million?! Still blows my mind), his notorious knowledge for cutting money spending corners for the betterment of film making makes me question his desire for a bigger budget than $60 million.

I hope this doesn't cause bitter blood between Universal and Rob-Rod (I'll call him that from now on), but I still have to question the authenticity of him being upset over BARBARELLA not costing more than sixty mil'. If it was Michael Bay, James Cameron or Bryan Singer (Love the guy, but seriously, $250 mil for SUPERMAN was a little high, don'tchathink?) I would have believed it.
