Bounce BDThis April 10th the 2000 Ben Affleck and Gwyneth Paltrow starring romantic comedy Bounce is coming to Blu-ray. For those of you that missed it the first time around because you were too busy being 12 like me scope out the synopsis:

"Buddy Amaral (Affleck), a successful and self-absorbed Los Angeles advertising executive, switches airline tickets with a stranger just before boarding a long-delayed flight so that he might enjoy an overnight fling with a pretty Dallas businesswoman. When the plane goes down, killing all aboard, Buddy's guilt soon turns into an alcohol problem, As part of his 12-step program, Buddy seeks atonement and decides to seek out the woman he thinks he's left a widow. When he finds Abby Janello (Paltrow), a beautiful and smart real estate agent and mother of two, the pair fall in love."

Whoa, did I say "romantic comedy"?! That synopsis was kinda heavy ... I definitely meant to say romantic drama, when  plane goes down and there are no survivors you better not expect laughs. Although an Affleck charracter named "Buddy" might deserve a chuckle or two. Let's watch the trailer and try to find out:

A little sappy? Sure, but I spotted Johnny Galecki from "The Big Bang Theory" in there, so I'd still expect to laugh. I also laughed at the VHS box at the end of the trailer. Oh technology, how far we have come ...

Bounce Blu-ray Extras Include:

  • Audio commentary with director Don Roos
  • Scene-specific commentary with Roos, Affleck, and Paltrow
  • Deleted scenes with optional commentary
  • Gag reel
  • Music video
  • Behind-the-scenes featurettes

Extra tidbit: I used to have one of those machine that would automatically rewind the tape once you put the tape inside. One time, the machine rewound the tape so fast that the film core broke lose and the tape is worthless. Sad.
