Some intriguing promotional material just popped up online that should make everyone who is a fan of a certain Reese's Pieces loving alien excited:

Looks like Steven Spielberg's 1982 sci-fi classic E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial is coming to Blu-ray sometime this year in celebration of Universal Studios centennial. While no official release date, or any specs for that matter, are yet available rest assured we'll be following this one closely.

The other Spielberg flick on the promo, Jaws, has been officially announced for Blu-ray and you can bite into all of the juicy details right over here.

Extra Tidbit: Did you know some of E.T.'s species pop up in STAR WARS EPISODE I: THE PHANTOM MENACE? Look for them in the Senate.

E.T.s are in Episode 1 after Padme calls for the vote of no confidence in chancellor Valorum. They are one of the aliens shouting "Vote now!" You will see them in the bottom left of one shot.

YES! One of my most anticipated blu-ray releases. As for the extra tidbit, I think you see them in Episode I, not II.
