There are several reasons to check out the movie I MELT WITH YOU. Like most good movies, the first reason will always be because of a good cast. In this case, the cast consists of Thomas Jane, Rob Lowe, Jeremy Piven, Carla Gugino (equally insta-awesome), Arielle Kebel and Sasha Grey (yes, that one). Not a great cast since there are some hit and miss members, but a pretty decent one and definitely an interesting one, if nothing else. The next thing a good film needs is someone to execute the film properly. The film’s writer, Glenn Porter is pretty new to Hollywood, so the task of bringing Porter’s vision to life goes to Mark Pellington, who’s previous work includes Henry Poole Is Here, The Mothman Prophecies (a very underrated movie, in my opinion) and Arlington Road. The things that a film needs, I’ll just add, aren’t necessarily in that order… they’re just things I generally think a proper film needs for success.

The synopsis for I MELT WITH YOU is this: "Richard (Thomas Jane), Ron (Jeremy Piven), Jonathan (Rob Lowe), and Tim (Christian McKay) are friends from college who gather for a weekend each year to celebrate their friendship and catch up with each other. On the surface, they look like other men going through life: they have careers and families and responsibilities. But as with many people, there is more to them than meets the eye. As the weekend progresses, they go down the rabbit hole of excess. Fueled by sex, drugs, and rock 'n' roll, their bacchanalian reunion drives them to an unexpected place where they are forced to confront themselves and the choices they’ve made."

I’m not entirely sure if I MELT WITH YOU had a theater run or not, but it has been given a release date. The film will be arriving on DVD and Blu-ray on February 28.

So far no cover art has been revealed and we have no word on what special features will be included in the set. Since the release is only a couple months away, we should hopefully know more details soon.
