3DFLIX

For better or worse Netflix has been experimenting with their business model and as they push more towards streaming content and less towards physical media (R.I.P. Qwikster) it shouldn't come as a surprise that they have now confirmed that they won't be entering a long rumored video game rental service.

So ... so much for that.

But in some further interesting news also found in Netflix's annual "earning call" and 4th quarter earning report it is clear that the company is "looking into" streaming 3D content. I'm no expert but streaming 3D has to suck up some serious bandwidth, it will be interesting to see the video quality if and when this new Netflix feature breaks into the next dimension.

Speaking of if and when, no official timeline has been given although I'd expect to hear more about Netflix's 3D plans before 2012 comes to a close.

Extra Tidbit: Anybody still renting video games? The last time I rented I was about 8 and it was Battletoads & Double Dragon for the NES.

Extra tidbit: Nope. I only buy one once in a while. I have XBOX 360 and my latest game is Forza Motorsport 4. Very fun but the Kinect function kinda sucks.
