Pedro Almodóvar's The Skin I Live In headed to DVD and Blu-ray

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced that they will be releasing THE SKIN I LIVE IN on DVD and Blu-ray in the very near future. The film, which is written and directed by Pedro Almodóvar, is said to be pretty dark, but fantastic. It stars Antonion Banderes, Elena Anaya and Jan Cornet. THE SKIN I LIVE IN will be hitting store shelves in 2012 on March 6.
The synopsis for the film is this: ” Ever since his wife was burned in a car crash, Dr. Robert Ledgard, an eminent plastic surgeon, has been interested in creating a new skin with which he could have saved her. After twelve years, he manages to cultivate a skin that is a real shield against every assault. In addition to years of study and experimentation, Robert needed a further three things: no scruples, an accomplice and a human guinea pig. Scruples were never a problem. Marilia, the woman who looked after him from the day he was born, is his most faithful accomplice. And as for the human guinea pig...”
I haven’t quite decided if I want to see THE SKIN I LIVE IN or not. I’ve heard nothing but good things about the film, but I’m still not sure. It was recently nominated for Best Foreign Film at the Golden Globes, but wasn't recognized in the same category for the Oscars.
