Ubisoft's post-apocalytpic survival game I Am Alive gets a launch trailer
January 25, 2012
Video games are something that takes up a lot of my time when I’m not watching movies or TV shows. I try to make time for all the games that look like they’re worth checking out and for the most part, I usually enjoy them. Of course, there’s always a dud or two among the ones that look like they’re going to be awesome, but you can’t always predict that and it’s just one of those things you gotta work out on your own.
Before I go on, I’m just going to say that the post-apocalyptic world thing? Well, it gets a bit tiring… It seems that a ton of game developers are trying to capitalize on that idea. Sometimes it’s the end of the world, but with zombies. Sometimes it’s the end of the world, but with cannibalistic survivors doing anything to make it to tomorrow. Sometimes it’s nuclear war and sometimes there’s something entirely different going on. Either way, the end-of-days video game is not a new concept.
Ubisoft has been working on a small title that will be released on the Xbox Live Arcade as well as on the PlayStation Network very shortly on March 7. The game is called I AM ALIVE and it, as you may suspect, it's set in a post-apocalyptic world. It takes place in a fictional American city, one year after something called the Event, which wiped out most of human civilization. The world is left mostly inhabitable and in ruins. The main focus is on a man who is trying to survive in order to find his lost wife and daughter.
Does it sound good to you? I AM ALIVE’s release date is quickly coming up and other than a little bit of gameplay footage, I haven't seen much else about it. However, a brand-new trailer has been released for the game and it has definitely caught my attention and made me want to check it out. Watch the trailer below and tell me what you think!
