One night each year all of Hollywood gets gussied up, puts on their red carpet walking shoes and converge on The Academy Awards. Nominees are read, entertainment is had and winners named but what gets televised is only a the tip of the iceberg.

Unless you've physically attended or hung out backstage you've only gotten part of the Oscar experience, but there's a new application that will work on iPhones, iPads and iPod Touches that will give you all of that in-depth access your cinephiliac heart requires. "The Official Oscar App", (now available to download for free!) will allow you to enjoy The Academy Awards with several new features including multiple camera feeds including backstage and even the swanky Governor's Ball, the official Oscar party.

• Thank You Cam: Offering winners an extended opportunity to thank their supporters
  
• Backstage Cam: Capturing sound bites, backstage action, short interviews and behind-the-scenes footage
  
• Control Room Cam: Allowing users to watch the show's director in action
  
• Press Room Cam: Featuring moments of winners in the press area
• New watching and sharing features

I think the only thing it won't do is provide you with the copious amounts of alcohol for all the Oscar after-parties you'll be attending, so B.Y.O.C. (bring your own champagne).
