WHAT'S IT ABOUT?
Liz Lemon and her band of writers are back for another season as they continue to deal with the difficult Tracy Jordan and their corporate boss. But the team is in for a bundle of changes as Jack goes up for a promotion and Liz flirts with corporate life.
IS IT A GOOD MOVIE?
After its first season, many critics were ready to hail 30 Rock as the hands down best comedy on television. Although I loved it, I wasnt quite ready to take my acclaim that far. I wanted to give it some time and see if Tina and company could maintain the success they found with the first season and then improve upon it.

Im happy to say, that you can count me amongst the adoring fans of 30 Rock. Season two continues everything started with season one and then makes it better. The jokes are faster and theres always a running gag within the show. Season two reminds me of the last few seasons of Seinfeld, where each character had an interrelated situation that became clear at the end. Plus, the jokes in 30 Rock are bust-your-gut hilarious and you can watch each episode several times and still find yourself laughing out loud.

Jack (Alec Baldwin) seems to have a bigger part in season two, which is fine by me. His performance while playing the different relatives of Tracy Jordan was one of the single funniest moments in television history. Just thinking about it makes me laugh. He also has an impeccable knack for comedic timing, delivering all of his lines right on queue. Theres not much to say about Tina Fey that hasnt already been said, but shes adorable, funny, and great as always.

If I had one minor problem with the show, it was with the high number of guest stars. I loved Seinfelds appearance in the first episode and there were some bright spots throughout, but overall I thought we had too many guest stars. Tina, Alec, Tracy, Jane and the rest of the gang are more than funny enough to carry the show. Throwing in guest stars is something a dying show tries to do to save itself (see Friends for example). But thats a minor complaint and it hardly deters from 30 Rocks greatness.
THE EXTRAS
Audio Commentary on select episodes: They have a ton of people show up on every episode. You have to pick and choose which ones you want to listen to, but theyre all pretty decent. I think the commentaries with more than one person were the most interesting.

Deleted Scenes: A handful of episodes have deleted scenes with them, and again, some are better than others. I wouldnt say youre missing too much, but they are worth checking out. It doesnt take too long to go through all of them.

Cooter Table Read (31:28): This is just a simple table read of the script. Its cool to see the cast go through and read their lines, but 30 minutes of table reading is more than enough.

30 Rock Live at the UCB Theater (46:45): This was pretty cool and a very nice addition to an already great set. They did a live theater performance to raise money during the strike. You have to watch the episode first so you can follow along when the audio goes in and out.

Tina Hosts SNL (8:05): This is kind of a behind the scenes look at Tina hosting SNL last year. It was neat, but it wasnt funny or groundbreaking. However, its more Tina, so you cant go wrong watching this.

An Evening with 30 Rock (23:09): This is a giant interview with the cast by Brian Williams. It was pretty funny and more worthwhile for how interesting the responses were from everyone being interviewed. Again, another great feature.

FINAL DIAGNOSIS
If youre not familiar with 30 Rock, then you must hate yourself. Thats the only explanation I can think of for you not watching this show. Do yourself a favor and go out and buy the first two seasons. Its that good.
