AFTER SEX starts off, well... right after sex. We first meet Leslie and Christopher, two lovers who don't know what to call their relationship. As Chris puts it, "There's a difference between love and sex", but you can tell Leslie is deeply affected by his decision. Just when the story starts to get good, and characters start to develop, we move straight to the next couple and so on. The biggest surprise would be the appearances of James DeBello and Mila Kunis. Although their segments didn't last much longer then 12 minutes, their characters were the most memorable of the bunch. Kunis plays Nikki, a closet lesbian who gets involved with her roommate, and as her curiosity starts to arise, she asks: "So, what does it taste like, chicken?" If there's one scene everyone should watch, it would be that one. And trust me guys; you can thank later.
Unlike DeBello's usual stoner roles, (DETROIT ROCK CITY, CABIN FEVER) he plays a shy, yet curious gay man who gets involved with a rocker musician. Ultimately he ends up getting taken advantage of, and in a hilarious scene, they both find themselves arguing over "who's the bitch, and who's the butch?” I wouldn't mind watching an entire movie on just this one segment. I love James DeBello, and was a little disappointed his scenes were so short, but it kept in stride with the other stories. Towards the end, I was hoping these couples would somehow meet, and the stories would intertwine, but it wasn’t about the others... just themselves.
