WHAT'S IT ABOUT?
Larry David is back for another 10 priceless episodes in season 2 of his award-winning HBO comedy hit [read season 1 review here]. In the show, Larry plays himself, co-creator of SEINFELD and all around victim of circumstance (as his manager in the show Jeff Greene acutely observes). No matter what he does or how he does it, Larry always gets blamed and ultimately put on the spot – and it gets funnier each and every time…
IS IT A GOOD MOVIE?
There is only one real running storyline in season 2 and that involves Larry pitching a new television comedy to the networks for ex-SEINFELD mate Jason Alexander and later on for Julia Louis-Dreyfus. This is a pretty good idea that carries over well throughout the 10 shows without necessarily being the focus of each episode. The payoff gag in the season finale is especially well worth it! Besides that, Larry once again, unwillingly, gets himself into all sorts of awkward, compromising and unpleasant situations each and every week. As I did for season 1, I’ll list a few…

Larry gets accused of aiding in the death of a friend’s father

Larry injures Shaquille O’Neal at the Lakers home-opener and thus has the entire city of Los Angeles against him

Larry unknowingly requests a hand-job from a masseuse

Larry gets into a brouhaha with a pro wrestler

Larry is accused of being a self-hating Jew, a misogynist, a wife-beater, a thief, a pedophile, a fetishist, an adulterer, etc…

Larry manages to alienate himself from and offend HBO, ABC and CBS.

Larry thinks his male acupuncturist is hitting on him

More hilarious exchanges between Larry and friend Richard Lewis.

One of the funniest half-hours I’ve ever sat through was The Shrimp Incident episode where Larry faces the consequences of uttering the word c*nt at a poker game and goes head-to-head/plays mind games with a top HBO exec. It’s the perfect example of how truly brilliant this show can be-- every second of it was a pure joy to watch. The writing and storylines are as sharp as in season 1 as season 2 finds Larry and his beautiful wife Cheryl (she’s downright sexy at times this season – yum!) moving into a gorgeous new seaside home. Both Jeff Garlin (Larry’s manager) and Cheryl Hines (his wife) do a bang-up job, once again, in supporting Larry as his life constantly collapses and gets built up again. I can’t suggest season 2 of CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM enough. It’s the funniest show on TV right now so don’t waste any more time and get out there and buy it! PS: Larry David is a genius. I just had to say it
THE EXTRAS
Unlike SEASON 1...none.
FINAL DIAGNOSIS
There are no extras in this 2-disc set and I could seriously care less. These ten episodes are worth adding to your collection no matter what. If you’re a fan of the humor and situations that SEINFELD brought to the table every week, you’ll be pleasantly surprised to witness a show that brings all of that back to you, and then some…
