WHAT'S IT ABOUT?
Three weekend warriors (reservists) struggling with their own lives, get tabbed to go to Iraq to fight for their country. However, through a series of accidents, they end up in a troubled Mexican town and end up helping out the people and themselves.
IS IT A GOOD MOVIE?
I think itís a red flag when you can honestly say the funniest part of a particular comedy happens to be the teaser posters for the film. However, Iíd be surprised if anyone actually went into this film expecting it to be funny. We all know itís a bad film, the question becomes how bad was it?

It was really bad. Like most spoofs or slapstick comedies, itís a series of jokes with a half-hearted story packed in around the jokes. I have to shamefully admit that I mildly enjoyed Bill Engvall and the Cable Guyís early stand-up work. They had some decent jokes and were decently funny, especially when compared to the very unfunny Jeff Foxworthy. Despite what flashes of comedic timing they showed in their early work, they showed nothing in this film. Theyíre obviously way out of their depth trying to act in a movie and most of their scenes were unbearable for the unlucky audience that happens to be witnessing their attempts.

Then thereís DJ Qualls. I donít understand this guy. Heís milked his skinny, dorky physical appearance for all itís worth and I think heís finally reached rock bottom with this. I thought maybe with a decent turn in HUSTLE AND FLOW, he might be able to break out of his typecast, but that didnít happen. Keith David, who normally shows some decent range as an actor, is barely a punch line to the two main stars and his own performance was equally bad.

There is no plot and instead itís a hodgepodge of their glory days of standup. I realize that their names alone will probably attract enough people to justify the movie being made, but I canít imagine that even the most die-hard Cable Guy fans will find this amusing. Even with the sprinkle of amusing scenes, the unfunny filler scenes made this one a chore to sit through.
THE EXTRAS
Commentary with CB Harding: CB jumps right into the commentary and he has a lot to say about every scene. He does a good job considering heís alone and its definitely better than actually watching the film. If I have one complaint, its that he tends to take the film a little to seriously. I expected him to be more relaxed when talking about it, but he seemed to really get into it.

Hacienda Confidential (4:46): This one is for the Blue Collar comedy fans because the three main characters spend the five minutes talking about their characters and cracking jokes. I found it boring, but it may entertain some.

All the Way to LA(8:08): Iím not sure why this featurette ever got made. Itís actually a featurette about the film being shot in Los Angeles. As if shooting a film in LA was out of the ordinary. This was a waste of time.

The Queen of Mean gets the Last Word (3:55): This is a four minute featurette on a character that was in the film for about 15 seconds. Iíll admit that she was mildly amusing in those 15 seconds, but not enough to merit a four minute featurette. At this point, they should have started combining these featurettes.

The Man Behind Carlos Santana (7:27): And finally, another featurette that doesnít belong on this DVD. However, Iíve liked Danny Trejo since DESPERADO and this quick featurette was a nice recap of his path to stardom.
FINAL DIAGNOSIS
I know the Blue Collar Comedy fans are going to pick this one up regardless of how bad it is, but everyone else should stay clear. The film was barely 90 minutes, but with the endless berating of flat jokes, it felt like several hours.
