WHAT'S IT ABOUT?
This season has Vince counting down the days until his next movie starts shooting, Turtle going back to school, Johnny struggling to find his true calling in life, Eric wrestling with the idea of getting Sloan back while juggling a new job and business as usual with Ari as a new career opportunity presents itself.
IS IT A GOOD MOVIE?
The boys are back, and brought their A-game for yet another season! ENTOURAGE finished up its sixth season, and in case you were wondering, YES, it DID get picked up for a seventh. Not everyone "gets" this show, and I've even heard some Nay-Sayers refer to it as "a show about the group of guys you hated in High School," which is a complete and utter crock of shit. The key theme here is friendship, and not only do you see that, you feel it. I will most certainly admit to this being a "man's man" show, and though I'm tempted to say you need to be a guy to fully understand, I'm then prompted to bring up SEX AND THE CITY, as this is pretty much a male version of that show, which I’m sure women can appreciate.

I was happy to see Vince back to the glory days, instead of stressed, weak and wondering where his next break would come from. That said, season five's storyline was a great character leap for him, making him appreciate his second claim to fame that much more. Seeing Eric take the new job (despite Sloan's help), was also nice, not to mention the end result in the final episode (I won't ruin it for those who have yet to watch it). The Turtle/Jamie-Lynn Sigler thing was entertaining, it was nice to him get a little from the ladies for a change (and I'll also add that he slimmed up a bit this season). Johnny is Johnny and never ceases to amaze me with each passing episode as the guy's dialogue is pure gold. And speaking of Gold, Ari wasn't as big a focal point as he was last season, but his character development was also well done, and I totally dig where the season went for him.

It didn't fell like there were many celebrity cameos this season (Scott Caan, Bob Saget and Peter Stormare was cool surprises), but the ones who did make it were fun. "Marky" Mark Wahlberg made an appearance (love how he gives Johnny shit), and there was an aggressively awkward Matt Damon cameo in the final episode that made him look like a whiny bitch (I sure hope he was "acting"). All in all, this was a solid season and boys made me proud. It's no secret by now that I love the shit out of HBO and a good portion of its programs, but ENTOURAGE remains at the top of my list. There are a million different ways to define the phrase "living the dream" but luckily for us, it can be summed up nicely by tuning in and watching this show. Long live the dream and love live ENTOURAGE.
THE EXTRAS
“Life at the Top”: The cast and crew go in depth about Vince’s return to fame and fortune. They didn’t just want to bring him back; they wanted to bring him back with a vengeance trumping everything he’d done before.

“A Day at the Speedway”: This interesting feature puts us behind the wheel as the cast and crew race Ferraris around the Auto Club Speedway. Lucky Bastards.

ONEXONE PSA: This hilarious bit ties in with Matt Damon’s cameo this season and how he wants Vince to do his part for charity. It’s short but priceless.

Commentaries: There’s a commentary for each episode and if it’s not enough to hear the boys weighing in don’t worry because they’re joined by various guest stars like Bob Saget for instance (his performance was gold this season).
FINAL DIAGNOSIS
If you view friendship like I do, loyalty plays a huge role in how you present yourself. This show embodies this concept flawlessly while having fun with the various rigors and highlights of Hollywood life. The extras are a touch underwhelming this time around and in my opinion don’t give you the bang for your buck TV seasons usually do. Of course, if you love the show, you’ll most likely be willing to look past this.
