WHAT'S IT ABOUT?
The worlds most infamous assassin has been set up by a powerful Russian politician and he must travel the world to exact his revenge. With a beautiful girl by his side, he shoots and blows up his way to the truth.
IS IT A GOOD MOVIE?
I have to say that I was shocked at how much fun I had watching this movie. From the very beginning, this flick is a fn blast. The checklist for a good shoot em up is a hot chick, violence and a cool lead actor. I can assure you that we have all three covered here in extreme excess. The result is an underrated but highly enjoyable action film that entertains you throughout the entire movie.

Lets start with the hot chick. Ive never seen Olga Kurylenko before, but now I can honestly say Ive seen all of her. Shes super hot and is wearing nothing, or next to nothing the entire film. When it comes to violence, I consider myself pretty numb to most violent films. At this point, most action fans have seen it all. With that in mind, I was surprised at just how many people died in this movie and I loved how Agent 47 showed no mercy to anyone but the girl (directly or indirectly). Not only was there plenty of violence, but it was done in a very stylized manner. It had a video game feel to it, but not overly so.

Finally, theres Mr. Olyphant. If you like HBOs DEADWOOD, then youre probably already a fan of his. I can say without a doubt that Timothy Olyphant pulls off the persona of Agent 47 flawlessly. I enjoyed watching his bald head kick ass throughout the movie. I think Olyphant is here to stay and thats fine by me.

If I have a complaint, it falls on the hands of Dougray Scott. Ive never been a fan of his, but every negative in the film has something to do with him. I loved the fact they didnt bore us with a long back story before jumping into the action. For the most part, they kept to this mentality of overdosing the violence and throwing in some dialogue when absolutely necessary. The only exception to this came whenever Scott was trying to figure something out. This is not a thinking mans movie and inserting poorly delivered, bad dialogue didnt help the film. But hey, you didnt come to see dialogue, you came to watch a badass kill a bunch of people.
THE EXTRAS
In the Crosshairs (24:20): This is a pretty good making-of featurette with your typical interviews from the cast and crew. I loved the fact they showed some video game footage. There were a few too many movie scenes, but there was also some good behind the scenes footage.

Digital Hits (10:36): We have some more video game footage intermixed with scenes from the movie. This featurette is dedicated to the video game and barely talks about the movie. We hear from some video game reviewers and experts about how great the video games are. This is especially good for fans of the game.

Instruments of Destruction (14:26): You guessed it, this is all about the weapons in the film, and there were a lot of them. Most of it is pretty basic, but its still cool to see some details about the kick ass guns featured in the movie. Also, Timothy Olyphant seems like a cool dude in real life and he made me laugh several times in these featurettes.

Settling the Score (5:12): The music was pretty good and the score got its own featurette. Again, its pretty basic information about how the music tells a story too and how important music is to a film. Of course, the famous music is the opera-like music in the beginning and thats not covered here.

Deleted Scenes (7:53): There was actually a completely different train station scene that they changed. Im glad, too because the original one didnt work well. Same goes for the alternate ending. That would have ruined the film and completely changed the tone. So while it was cool to see the alternate scenes, I hated them.

Gag Reel (4:53): Meh. These are your typical cant-stop-laughing gags. These are only funny to the people participating in them. So Im sure Dougray Scott is laughing his ass off now.

FINAL DIAGNOSIS
I really liked this movie and found it to be an all around blast. With a hot naked chick, gratuitous violence and a cool lead, you cant go wrong. I highly recommend it to action fans or fans of the videogame.
