Letís start with the hot chick. Iíve never seen Olga Kurylenko before, but now I can honestly say Iíve seen all of her. Sheís super hot and is wearing nothing, or next to nothing the entire film. When it comes to violence, I consider myself pretty numb to most violent films. At this point, most action fans have seen it all. With that in mind, I was surprised at just how many people died in this movie and I loved how Agent 47 showed no mercy to anyone but the girl (directly or indirectly). Not only was there plenty of violence, but it was done in a very stylized manner. It had a video game feel to it, but not overly so.
Finally, thereís Mr. Olyphant. If you like HBOís DEADWOOD, then youíre probably already a fan of his. I can say without a doubt that Timothy Olyphant pulls off the persona of Agent 47 flawlessly. I enjoyed watching his bald head kick ass throughout the movie. I think Olyphant is here to stay and thatís fine by me.
If I have a complaint, it falls on the hands of Dougray Scott. Iíve never been a fan of his, but every negative in the film has something to do with him. I loved the fact they didnít bore us with a long back story before jumping into the action. For the most part, they kept to this mentality of overdosing the violence and throwing in some dialogue when absolutely necessary. The only exception to this came whenever Scott was trying to figure something out. This is not a thinking manís movie and inserting poorly delivered, bad dialogue didnít help the film. But hey, you didnít come to see dialogue, you came to watch a badass kill a bunch of people.
Digital Hits (10:36): We have some more video game footage intermixed with scenes from the movie. This featurette is dedicated to the video game and barely talks about the movie. We hear from some video game reviewers and experts about how great the video games are. This is especially good for fans of the game.
Instruments of Destruction (14:26): You guessed it, this is all about the weapons in the film, and there were a lot of them. Most of it is pretty basic, but itís still cool to see some details about the kick ass guns featured in the movie. Also, Timothy Olyphant seems like a cool dude in real life and he made me laugh several times in these featurettes.
Settling the Score (5:12): The music was pretty good and the score got its own featurette. Again, itís pretty basic information about how the music tells a story too and how important music is to a film. Of course, the famous music is the opera-like music in the beginning and thatís not covered here.
Deleted Scenes (7:53): There was actually a completely different train station scene that they changed. Iím glad, too because the original one didnít work well. Same goes for the alternate ending. That would have ruined the film and completely changed the tone. So while it was cool to see the alternate scenes, I hated them.
Gag Reel (4:53): Meh. These are your typical canít-stop-laughing gags. These are only funny to the people participating in them. So Iím sure Dougray Scott is laughing his ass off now.
