WHAT'S IT ABOUT?
Same stupid jackasses doing the same stupid gags ... in 3D!!!

Disclaimer on cover reads: "The stunts in this movie were performed by professionals, so neither you nor your dumb little buddies should attempt anything from this movie."
IS IT A GOOD MOVIE?
C'mon, it's a Jackass movie so whether it is a "good" or "bad" doesn't really play into it. If Jackass 3 can make me laugh, cringe and almost vomit it has done it's job and let me tell you something, I did all of those things.

Jackass 3 is easily the boys (yes, boys no truly mature individual would ever put themselves through this much punishment) most disgusting outing yet. That is quite the accomplishment considering everything these guys have been through over the years. Just think about it for a second, yeah it is that gross. Depending on how well you take your scat humor you will either be laughing you ass off of looking for the nearest puke receptacle, quite possibly both.

The production value of Jackass 3 is surprisingly great. This is probably due to after all of these years people are still willing to pay to see a guy get hit in the balls, some comedy is universal and timeless I suppose. As far as watching the included 3D DVD (with official retro-style Jackass 3D glasses!) I can't say the technology works for the majority of the stunts these intrepid idiots pull but there are a few that definitely benefit from it, especially the intro and finale.

Now, let's take a moment to discuss the group of men, perfect assholes everyone of them in only the way true friends can be, that have made the Jackass franchise what it is today. Ringleader Johnny Knoxville, who is now 40 years old, proves you don't have to be young to be completely stupid. This guy seemed to have saved some of the most physically punishing stunts for himself, including but not limited to getting demolished by an NFL lineman and showdowns with both buffalo and a bull. The dude leads his team of jackasses by example and that is truly commendable, by having a superhuman power over his survival instincts. Then whenever something particularly gut wrenching has to be done Steve-O is there. Sure, he will probably be barfing his guts out immediately after, but bless him, he does it anyway. And what can I say about Chris Pontius? You see his dick. A lot. That is about all I have to say about Chris. The rest of the gang is present as well including Bam Margera, Wee-Man, Ryan Dunn and Preston Lacy. And, of course, Jackass 3 wouldn't be complete without some celebrity cameos and I don't want to spoil anything but there are a few, including director Spike Jonze who also got a writing credit for the movie.

As far as the stunts and pranks go these are some of the biggest and most entertaining yet. Like I said before a few of them really embrace the 3D technology and several more of them are just diabolically simple, either way you will be cringing before they even happen and laughing afterwards. I was at that perfect impressionable age when Jackass hit MTV and I grew up in awe of these guys unconquerable lack of interest in self preservation. They are fearless, crass gluttons for punishment and it is almost inspirational to know that all you need is dedication and a decent pain tolerance and anything in this insane world is possible. Jackass 3 is everything it had to be, and when the credits start to role you may even find yourself getting sentimental.
THE EXTRAS
Unrated Director's Cut: In addition to the theatrical cut of Jackass 3 you get the unrated version as well. Clocking in at almost 10 extra minutes of footage the unrated version has just a little more of the jackasses you love to laugh at.

3D DVD Copy: This Blu-ray release comes with a 3D DVD of the theatrical cut of the film that can be enjoyed with the four pairs of retro-3D glasses that are also included (score!). Plus a Digital Copy of the theatrical cut is included on the DVD.

The Making of Jackass 3D (28:39): Jackasses and crew take a look at how they come up the crazy stunts, their preparation for the work, 3D and building the crap that hurts them.

Deleted Scenes (16:05): "Blue Room Andy Bell", "Snake River Weedemption", "The Driving Range", "Phantom Dildo", "Sweatsuit Cocktail", "Preston/Duck Hunting", "Jet Ski 1", "Pontius the Barbarian", "Poocano", Original 3D Test Day, and "The Rocky".

Outtakes (27:37): Watch them laugh, watch them writhe in pain ... good times.

And because a Blu-ray isn't complete without one, the Theatrical Trailer.
FINAL DIAGNOSIS
Jackass has been around long enough for you to already know whether watching men degrade themselves in insanely ridiculous fashions is up your alley. But for those of you wondering if the ol' crew still has what it takes rest assured it is a Jackass movie and I sure as hell wasn't disappointed.

Although I would avoid eating dinner while watching ...

Extra Tidbit: Keep an eye out for the Jackass 3.5 webisodes starting this April on Joost.com. These guys have no quit in them!
