WHAT'S IT ABOUT?
A woman who is normally graced with good luck kisses a mysterious stranger and winds up losing her good luck. With the help of her friends, she must search New York and find the guy who took her luck.
IS IT A GOOD MOVIE?
I normally find Lindsay Lohan to be a very attractive female. However, there’s been about three months since her rise to fame where she was suffering from anorexia and other “addictions” that made her less than attractive and downright scary. JUST MY LUCK is what she did for money during those six months. She looks horrible through the duration of this movie and if I was in charge of 20th Century Fox, I’d want a refund on whatever I paid her.
Once you get past Lohan’s appearance, you’re not left with much of a movie. Unlike MEAN GIRLS and CONFESSIONS OF A TEENAGE DRAMA QUEEN, Luck caves in to all of the silly cliché’s that plague teen dramadies. The dialogue and characters seem like they’re written for little kids, but some of their actions seem aimed at older kids. There is no suspense, no surprises and very little in way of character development and storyline.
Also, the entire film makes the assumption that everyone accepts the idea “luck” can be passed by kissing someone else. Maybe I live a sheltered life, but last I checked, “luck” is not something that can be passed from one to another. Maybe I’m nitpicking here, but since that was basically the whole premise for the film, I have to bring it up.
The real star of this film is the adorable little Makenzie Vega. She’s a great young actress and she steals every scene she’s in. Unfortunately, she’s not in it very much. Movies like this need a strong lead character to be successful and sadly, Ms. Lohan was not on her A game during this one. I would imagine she’ll turn her career around and this will be something she’ll laugh about after she wins a few Oscars.

THE EXTRAS
McFly Behind the scenes (8:38): I found myself liking McFly. Yes, I’m embarrassed, but some of their songs were kind of catchy. This confirms that the band is actually real and that really was them singing.
Look of Luck featurette (2:36): Way too many movie clips for a two and a half minute featurette. Also, there weren’t enough costumes to merit involving the costume designer in the special features.
Deleted/Extended Scenes (6:31): These weren’t bad. Actually, they were kind of funny. They definitely shouldn’t have been cut. They added to the comedy in the film and give more of a glimpse of Lindsay down on her…luck.
There are also some Previews.

FINAL DIAGNOSIS
I can’t recommend this to anyone. Die-hard Lohan fans will be disappointed at her appearance and her phoned in performance. Others will be frustrated with the amateur script and lousy storyline. I think this one needs to be erased from Lohan’s resume.
