WHAT'S IT ABOUT?
When a single twenty-something (Lohan) raising her younger sister is fired, she creates a lie to keep her job: she's pregnant.
IS IT A GOOD MOVIE?
Say what you will of Lindsay Lohan (and you will), but the girl is trying to stage a comeback. It’s not her fault that Labor Pains, her first feature since 2007’s I Know Who Killed Me, went straight-to-ABC Family.

In it, she plays Thea Clayhill, a twenty-something putting her little sister through college on a secretary’s allowance. When she faces the pink slip from her boss (Chris Parnell), she ad-libs: “But…I’m pregnant!” And like that, she’s back at the copy machine. After all, what sort of HR department would put a single pregnant woman out on the street?

Soon, Thea is offered a promotion and making out with her boss’ replacement (Luke Kirby), who buys into her charade just like everyone else in the office. Except, of course, colleague/girlfriend Lisa (Cheryl Hines, collecting a check), who, for whatever reason, doesn’t seem to mind Thea’s constant griping.

Less than 150 words and you’ve already figured out the ending. Luck or fate or whatever will turn in Thea’s favor after the balloon under her dress has popped, even after keeping all of the baby gifts and popping an entire bottle of prenatal vitamins.

Lindsay Lohan is ready for her comeback (and so am I). Unfortunately for her, she’s been replaced by other teeny-bopping stars like Miley Cyrus. Her sassy, scripted advice for her rivals?: “Come on, you’re 17. You should be out drinking and smoking!” With that, bring on Machete!
THE EXTRAS
Making of Featurette (HD; 12:58) is a standard promotional piece with clips and interviews with Lindsay Lohan, Cheryl Hines, director Lara Shapiro, and more.

Cast Interviews (HD) sits down Lohan, Hines, Luke Kirby, and Chris Parnell for individual sit-downs.

Production Stills.
FINAL DIAGNOSIS
Lindsay Lohan is an easy target and so is Labor Pains, the comeback movie that wasn't. What Lohan needs is an R-rated drama/action that will show she's grown up and been able to keep up with her former audience. One more reason to anticipate Machete, if you ask me.
